720 Bourke St
Headquarters: Medibank Private
Adherettes developed the sky signage and fitout signage for Medibank Private’s new corporate headquarters in Melbourne’s Docklands.
To keep a neon-sign feel but lower costs, the sky signage utilised low-power LED technology. Along with illuminated acrylic totems, and wayfinding, Adherettes also delivered vinyl and digital print graphics for walls and internal windows, requiring significant and careful placement of scaffolding.

Adherettes digital wayfinding solution and branded signage reflects and integrates with the building fabric. Contours, curves and layered organic geometric forms inspired the project.
The wayfinding solution curves to a point and subtly navigates people towards the elevators. As the sign curves, it evolves into a green LED light wash which focuses attention towards the static menu.
The project won a 2015 Corian Design Award in the Product Innovation Category, and was a Finalist in the 2015 Victorian Premier's Design Awards in the Communication Design Category.
Behavioural insights ensured the design addressed a core problem and has transformed the management of the space. Product experimentation resulted in the development of a fully integrated LED illuminated logo, which when switched off, is completely invisible. All fixings and LED modules of the 720 sign were concealed resulting in a seamless finish. This reduces the risk of tampering that could affect structural integrity.
